Walking

The landscape in the Axarquia is spectacular from the coast to the mountains.  The area is blessed with a beautiful coastline, high summits, dramatic crags, wonderfully deep ravines, delightful rivers and all this in one region! The walking is truly wonderful. You can access the majority of mountain walks near to the following villages: Periana, Alcaucin, Canillas de Acetuno, Sedella, Salares, Canillas de Albaida, Competa, Frigiliana, Maro and Otivar. All of the villages are within a short distance of our villa.

 

There are two popular walking routes around Arenas, one leading to the base of the Bentomiz hill south of the village and the other towards the Cerro Alto beside the Salares stream.
